HELLO

Hi. I'm Amanda...a happy wife and mom to three awesome guys. We've lived here in Fort Collins for more than 20 years and are proud to call it home. Before moving to CO, I worked at a city attorney's office, making use of my law and Master's degrees from Duke. After settling in Fort Collins, I homeschooled my three (now teenage and older) sons and was delighted to experience music classes, soccer, karate, swim team, archery, Science Olympiad, First Lego League, parkour, and climbing (not all at the same time!). From 2005-10, I was also a contributing editor for a national scrapbooking magazine, authoring a book and a couple of monthly columns. From 2009-10, I founded and ran the Good Grief Blog. I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family, volunteering with The Matthews House, traveling and indoor rock climbing.

And then...

After grandparents flew home, we had a brief taste of "getting back to normal" before a quick visit from my baby sister and her husband earlier this week. My brother and niece drove up (they live about 40 miles from us) and we all had a fun evening of chatting and playing games on Monday. The next day we did some shopping and finally picked up the boys' bows! Here are the boys with their Aunt Cassy and Uncle Charlie at Rocky Mountain Archery:

Unfortunately, Cassy & Charlie had to leave from there (short visit this time around!) but the boys and I stayed a bit longer and worked on getting their bows all set up:

The next day, Wednesday, we started a new session of our homeschool group archery lessons and the boys worked even more on getting their sights adjusted to fit them. They'll have JOAD practice on Sunday and are pretty darn stoked.

(Look at that! I think I'm pretty caught up now. Ha. :) Now I can work on other things, like possibly revamping/updating that blog header up there, lol...)
