HELLO

Hi. I'm Amanda...a happy wife and mom to three awesome guys. We've lived here in Fort Collins for more than 20 years and are proud to call it home. Before moving to CO, I worked at a city attorney's office, making use of my law and Master's degrees from Duke. After settling in Fort Collins, I homeschooled my three (now teenage and older) sons and was delighted to experience music classes, soccer, karate, swim team, archery, Science Olympiad, First Lego League, parkour, and climbing (not all at the same time!). From 2005-10, I was also a contributing editor for a national scrapbooking magazine, authoring a book and a couple of monthly columns. From 2009-10, I founded and ran the Good Grief Blog. I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family, volunteering with The Matthews House, traveling and indoor rock climbing.

Teacher appreciation.

Done. :)

Thirteen teacher gifts to be delivered this afternoon at LEAP. Each bag has a stainless steel water bottle, some drink mixes, reusable ice ball thingies and a note to that teacher. The tag on top says "School's out. Summer's here. Thanks for all you've done this year...Stay cool!" and then the teacher's name is printed on the reverse for easy delivery. I was rather proud of myself...after searching high and low for inexpensive gift bag options that weren't too short or too wide, I just asked for extra brown bags at the liquor store...they were just the right size, lol!

(Yes, I know it seems impossibly early to be a last day of school. ;) Technically, next week is the last day of classes at LEAP. We won't be there then so are handing our dealios out today. And, for what it's worth, our "official" last day of this school year isn't until July anyhow since we homeschool and do our own thing, lol.)
