HELLO

Hi. I'm Amanda...a happy wife and mom to three awesome guys. We've lived here in Fort Collins for more than 20 years and are proud to call it home. Before moving to CO, I worked at a city attorney's office, making use of my law and Master's degrees from Duke. After settling in Fort Collins, I homeschooled my three (now teenage and older) sons and was delighted to experience music classes, soccer, karate, swim team, archery, Science Olympiad, First Lego League, parkour, and climbing (not all at the same time!). From 2005-10, I was also a contributing editor for a national scrapbooking magazine, authoring a book and a couple of monthly columns. From 2009-10, I founded and ran the Good Grief Blog. I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family, volunteering with The Matthews House, traveling and indoor rock climbing.

September KOTM

I'm still sifting through the pictures from last week in Estes Park. :) In the meantime, here are three layouts I just finished using some of the awesome goodies from the Creating Keepsakes September KOTM by Lisa Bearnson. The kit has a fabulous variety of chipboard, acetate and foam pieces...so fun! Here's the first one:

The "boy," the ampersand and the plane chipboard pieces are all from the kit. Yes, some of the chipboard are plain and others are not (very cool!). I agonized for a bit as to whether to paint that ampersand but, in the end, decided I kinda liked the plain ol' chipboard color, as it didn't distract from the other colors on the page. Here's another:

The title on this one is a little hard to read. Here's a better look:

I took the acetate title and coated it in Glossy Accents...subtle, but fun. I also used both chipboard and acetate stars and the chipboard bracket from the kit. :) And this last layout is, I think, my favorite of the three:

Pretty much everything except the fantastic Prism Papers cardstock here is from the kit. Oh, and those smashing yellow American Crafts vinyl letters...yum. I particularly love the acetate film strip and the oh-so-perfect chipboard robot. Course, those big white foam letters are pretty cool, too. And that chipboard circle has something going for it...Here's a closer shot:

Yup, lots of goodness in the September KOTM. Check it out. :)
