HELLO

Hi. I'm Amanda...a happy wife and mom to three awesome guys. We've lived here in Fort Collins for more than 20 years and are proud to call it home. Before moving to CO, I worked at a city attorney's office, making use of my law and Master's degrees from Duke. After settling in Fort Collins, I homeschooled my three (now teenage and older) sons and was delighted to experience music classes, soccer, karate, swim team, archery, Science Olympiad, First Lego League, parkour, and climbing (not all at the same time!). From 2005-10, I was also a contributing editor for a national scrapbooking magazine, authoring a book and a couple of monthly columns. From 2009-10, I founded and ran the Good Grief Blog. I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family, volunteering with The Matthews House, traveling and indoor rock climbing.

Hide and seek.

Do you happen to know where my cool October Afternoon chipboard tab book is? I *know* I had it here just days ago and now, for the life of me, cannot find it. I decided to use something else in the meantime anyhow, but it still just irks me to not know where it is, know what I mean? Sigh. I'm going to pretend we're just playing Hide and Seek. Somehow that seems better, right? ;)

Speaking of hiding...where do you hide your Christmas gifts for others? In the past, I've hidden most of my stuff in the basement closets (course, really, only the boys' stuff needs to be hidden anyhow). This year, though, it appears some of the boxes may be too big. What's a mom to do? Hmmm...any ideas?

i hide all of the gifts in the suitcases that are in my closet! my kids go to my room to watch tv, and sometimes get sneaky, but have never thought to go through the suitcases! maybe because they're so hard to get to?! i've been doing it for twenty years and they haven't been found yet - now my daughter is doing it for her little boy!!

no ideas, sorry - but if you had a pull-down attic, maybe you could hide the stuff up there since they would most likely not be able to pull down the attic door on their own. :)

I hide gifts in the dresser drawers in the guest room and in suitcases also. My husband hides them on the storage shelves in the basement - right in plain view and they blend in with the other boxes.

our home is a "cape-style" and the attic space is actually the space under the roof that is accessed through our bedroom. there are shudder style doors to open it, but there is so much clutter, the kids don't even think of going in there:) really though, there is a drawer caddy on wheels and i hide the presents directly behind it. nobody notices:)

We used a very LARGE suitcase for our trip to Disneyland in August. I didn't have anywhere to store it, so I put it in my closet standing up. It is now full of Christmas gifts for the kids. They never think to look there!
