HELLO

Hi. I'm Amanda...a happy wife and mom to three awesome guys. We've lived here in Fort Collins for more than 20 years and are proud to call it home. Before moving to CO, I worked at a city attorney's office, making use of my law and Master's degrees from Duke. After settling in Fort Collins, I homeschooled my three (now teenage and older) sons and was delighted to experience music classes, soccer, karate, swim team, archery, Science Olympiad, First Lego League, parkour, and climbing (not all at the same time!). From 2005-10, I was also a contributing editor for a national scrapbooking magazine, authoring a book and a couple of monthly columns. From 2009-10, I founded and ran the Good Grief Blog. I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family, volunteering with The Matthews House, traveling and indoor rock climbing.

Making progress...

It's rather overcast here today (and in the 30s after yesterday's almost 80 degrees...yes, really) so no pictures, but I'm thrilled to announce that I can now see the floor in my scrap room!! It's been pretty much buried since the start of the school year but I found it last night. Whew. Feeling pretty good about that. ;)

That was really it. Little things like that make me happy, lol. Oh, and three other quick things:

First, crowdSPRING, hire Kelly Purkey for your new Community Marketing Manager!

Second, join me at the CK message board next Monday (11/24) from 8-10 pm MST for Happy Hour (basically just some fun chatting and a few challenges and chances to win stuff). I'll be your "host" for those two hours. You know you deserve a little break before Thanksgiving crazy-ness sets in!

Third, have you seen these cool card kits? I know I've said that I'm going simple this year, but these are pretty dang cool:

You can find out more here. I think the thing I love most is the circles turned cards.

Oh. And one last thing. I really love when you leave comments! I know I'm guilty of just reading and leaving, myself, (on other people's blogs) but I'm trying to do better. Because that little comment at the end of a post really just makes my day. So go ahead and just say hi, okay? :)

Okay, now I'm really done. For now. :) Going to go work on organizing my upstairs storage area so that I can keep better track of what gifts I already have done and purchased. More later...

Just 'found' your blog the other day. And yes I did visit, enjoyed my stay, but didn't leave a comment. So here I am trying to do better. Looking forward to reading more.

Have been reading and not commenting - so here is my attempt to do better. We don't have Thanksgiving here in New Zealand, but it's a lovely time of year (just beginning to get warm as we move from Spring into Summer) so it's a good time to be thankful. Well done on the tidying up - I can relate to the feeling good about that sort of thing (pity it doesn't happen too often to do with tidying though!)

I hide the gifts in the closet behind my clothes. Or I will stash stuff inside an empty suitcase in the closet also. I have one huge item out in the garge behind some boxes covered with a sheet. Hopefully no one gets curious.
I always look forward to Happy Hour. "See" you there.
