HELLO

Hi. I'm Amanda...a happy wife and mom to three awesome guys. We've lived here in Fort Collins for more than 20 years and are proud to call it home. Before moving to CO, I worked at a city attorney's office, making use of my law and Master's degrees from Duke. After settling in Fort Collins, I homeschooled my three (now teenage and older) sons and was delighted to experience music classes, soccer, karate, swim team, archery, Science Olympiad, First Lego League, parkour, and climbing (not all at the same time!). From 2005-10, I was also a contributing editor for a national scrapbooking magazine, authoring a book and a couple of monthly columns. From 2009-10, I founded and ran the Good Grief Blog. I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family, volunteering with The Matthews House, traveling and indoor rock climbing.

Oops

Um, sorry. Looks like I've fallen behind. ;) I have two more posts I'll get to in a minute..but, first, here are some random pictures and notes...

Micah and Nathan made me some lumpia as a combination "end of school year, teacher appreciation" and Mother's Day gift...yum!!

Now that school's done for the year, Micah's been keeping busy with rock climbing and karate. He's also taken the placement exam so that he can register for classes at CEC for the fall. (Meeting with his advisor will take place sometime this month.)

Asher got me an inflatable costume for Mother's Day...(he picked it out, himself)...

Halloween is going to be terrific this year! ;)

Asher started his summer internship a week after his classes finished and has been learning all about what it's like to put in an 8 hour day. (Given homeschooling and then the flexible nature of classes at CEC, he's never actually done that before, lol.) He seems to like the job just fine, though...he's just tired. :) (He starts work at 6am, gets home around 3pm and then has karate or parkour in the evening every night except Mondays.)

And here's a picture of Noah vacuuming his dorm room when we were moving him out...

He's finally unpacking his stuff today, though he's been home more than two weeks. :)

And now I'll go get those next posts posted so you can see what else has been going on...
