The Big 4-0

Yesterday, I turned 40. Yup.
To celebrate this milestone and Nathan's later this summer (he's a couple months younger), we're planning our first non-kid trip in 15 years. We're pretty darn stoked! Woohoo!!!
Given our plans for next month, then, we went low-key for my actual birthday but still managed to have a really fabulous weekend. To start, my friend Molly came up Saturday to take me out for a pedicure...
(I don't think I've ever gone with pink nail polish before, lol. Mine's not as bright as Molly's, but still. Fun!) After our pedicures, we had an awesome day of shopping and chatting. Meanwhile, Nathan and the boys tackled most of our normal weekend chores and bought me these lovely peonies...
Then on Sunday (my actual birthday), we headed up to Estes Park for the day. These guys welcomed us...
They were right off the road...seriously close and unconcerned.
Then, given the uncertainty of the weather lately, we opted to hit the miniature golf course first. It wasn't as "cool" as some of the other courses we've played but it's a sentimental favorite.
(Noah snapped this while we were playing.)
During our round, I got out my selfie stick and made boys pose with me since it was my birthday... ;)
...and then made them pose with me some more after we'd finished at the miniature golf course and headed for downtown Estes...
Then we ate at Ed's Cantina (a favorite of ours and something we'd been looking forward to for months) and wandered the shops and got ice cream and a caramel apple at Hayley's. We snapped some more pictures...
...before making our final stop at Kind Coffee (for Nathan) and driving back home for a late afternoon nap and dinner and just enjoying being together.
Happy birthday to me! :)
