HELLO

Hi. I'm Amanda...a happy wife and mom to three awesome guys. We've lived here in Fort Collins for more than 20 years and are proud to call it home. Before moving to CO, I worked at a city attorney's office, making use of my law and Master's degrees from Duke. After settling in Fort Collins, I homeschooled my three (now teenage and older) sons and was delighted to experience music classes, soccer, karate, swim team, archery, Science Olympiad, First Lego League, parkour, and climbing (not all at the same time!). From 2005-10, I was also a contributing editor for a national scrapbooking magazine, authoring a book and a couple of monthly columns. From 2009-10, I founded and ran the Good Grief Blog. I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family, volunteering with The Matthews House, traveling and indoor rock climbing.

Easter - inside

Happy Easter, yesterday! ;)

We had a quiet little family celebration here...with "baskets" for boys:

Instead of baskets, we went with storage containers for organizing their HeroClix figures, as they've been enjoying HeroClix since the FoCo Comics & Gaming Festival thanks to Gryphon. Added to that was candy (though more limited than years past thanks to Asher's braces, lol), a HeroClix figure, and a couple of things specific to each boy...cashews and a Drax dagger for Micah, Avengers Cheese-Its and a Star Lord blaster for Asher, and beef jerky and an expansion pack for the Smash Up game he got for Christmas for Noah. (The cashews, Cheese-Its and beef jerky are things that only one boy enjoys so doesn't get often, lol. The dagger and blaster are accessories for the Drax and Star Lord costumes that the younger two plan to wear to Comic Con this year.)

And then I hid six dozen plastic eggs around the house. (We normally hide them outside but decided there were more hiding places inside.) It was pretty entertaining watching them try to find all the eggs...gone are the days when eggs were hidden in plain sight, lol.

Inside each egg, I hid two little Pokemon figures that I'd picked up off of Amazon. It was just a whim but the boys were surprisingly happy with them and a thorough round of trading ensued.

After lunch, we had some of these lovely little cakes that Nathan and Micah picked up at Whole Foods:

And, while picking up the cakes, Nathan also picked up these festive tulips for me:

Happy sigh. :)
