HELLO

Hi. I'm Amanda...a happy wife and mom to three awesome guys. We've lived here in Fort Collins for more than 20 years and are proud to call it home. Before moving to CO, I worked at a city attorney's office, making use of my law and Master's degrees from Duke. After settling in Fort Collins, I homeschooled my three (now teenage and older) sons and was delighted to experience music classes, soccer, karate, swim team, archery, Science Olympiad, First Lego League, parkour, and climbing (not all at the same time!). From 2005-10, I was also a contributing editor for a national scrapbooking magazine, authoring a book and a couple of monthly columns. From 2009-10, I founded and ran the Good Grief Blog. I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family, volunteering with The Matthews House, traveling and indoor rock climbing.

My "DID" album.

With my first 5K coming up tomorrow, it seems like a good time to share a little album I just created. It's just for me and I'm calling it my "DID" album. Yeah, it's kinda a weird name. I know. ;) It stems from this quote I've been seeing lately that really speaks to me..."She believed she could so she did." I've yet to find this quote attributed to any specific person but have seen it in numerous places (like this, probably my favorite). Anyhow. I like it. I find it motivating so made it the backbone of my little album about this fitness journey I'm on...someplace to remind myself of what I've attempted and accomplished and aspired to.

So. It's in an 8x8 album. Right now, it looks like this:

And here are some of the inside pages:

The title page...

Taken from my blog...

Some tags from initial purchases...

Books that have made a difference...

And inspiring quotes...

I have a few more layouts for this album but will have to share those later. ;) After tomorrow's race, I'll make a page for my race bib. I have no idea what else will end up in this album but just love looking through it. It makes me happy. :)
