HELLO

Hi. I'm Amanda...a happy wife and mom to three awesome guys. We've lived here in Fort Collins for more than 20 years and are proud to call it home. Before moving to CO, I worked at a city attorney's office, making use of my law and Master's degrees from Duke. After settling in Fort Collins, I homeschooled my three (now teenage and older) sons and was delighted to experience music classes, soccer, karate, swim team, archery, Science Olympiad, First Lego League, parkour, and climbing (not all at the same time!). From 2005-10, I was also a contributing editor for a national scrapbooking magazine, authoring a book and a couple of monthly columns. From 2009-10, I founded and ran the Good Grief Blog. I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family, volunteering with The Matthews House, traveling and indoor rock climbing.

Water rocks!

It started with the sidewalk chalk. And then they wanted to change what they'd written. Thus came the water...

Noah, of course, declared himself in charge of the hose as he sprayed his brothers. Micah wasn't keen on getting wet but loved to see the spray. Not exactly sure what he's doing here...perhaps signaling some sort of water spray preference? Regardless, he's adorable!

And, my suddenly fearless Asher ended the session completely soaked...with goosebumps and pruney fingers. Unlike his water-dodging brothers, Asher headed straight into it:

Incidentally, I now think that it should be mandatory that kids wear tie dye when playing in the water. :)

(Yes, btw, I know I should have redirected them to spray the water over the yard so at least we'd have been watering the grass. But they were having such fun and we didn't stay out there *too* terribly long...)

Well, it seems like a good start to the weekend. :) Here's hoping the rest of it goes as well...(and I promise to try to do some scrapbooking to share, too!)

These are terrific water shots and your children are lovely! Thank you for responding to my(wigglinessa) query(ok, my WHINE) about the AIY! I SO look forward to each issue and your new AIY page and sketches. I keep it posted as a slideshow on my blog. Now I'm off to set up my July page so that when family come to visit from Chicago next week, I can have them write about their favorite memory of the visit! Thanks again!
