HELLO

Hi. I'm Amanda...a happy wife and mom to three awesome guys. We've lived here in Fort Collins for more than 20 years and are proud to call it home. Before moving to CO, I worked at a city attorney's office, making use of my law and Master's degrees from Duke. After settling in Fort Collins, I homeschooled my three (now teenage and older) sons and was delighted to experience music classes, soccer, karate, swim team, archery, Science Olympiad, First Lego League, parkour, and climbing (not all at the same time!). From 2005-10, I was also a contributing editor for a national scrapbooking magazine, authoring a book and a couple of monthly columns. From 2009-10, I founded and ran the Good Grief Blog. I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family, volunteering with The Matthews House, traveling and indoor rock climbing.

Tie dye.

Heading out the door in a few but wanted to post this pic of the boys in their new tie dyed tees:

My mom sent this great tie dye kit for my birthday and we tried it out over the weekend. Rinsed and washed everything Monday night and the boys immediately grabbed theirs yesterday. Here they are modeling one of the two each of them made (okay, I did the application of the dye, but they directed the colors and placement). Dude. Tie dye is fun. I've never actually done any before and may need to do some more before summer's end. ;)

In other news, we had a lovely time miniature golfing on Father's Day. Micah cracked us all up. He'd tee up and hit the ball in turn, just like everyone else. Then he'd immediately pick up his ball and walk to within inches of the hole...place the ball on the ground again...hit it in (which, amazingly, sometimes required quite a few strokes)...and then proclaim himself the winner. Funny boy.

This week, Noah's in soccer camp in the mornings. Next week, Asher will do the same. Asher's finishing up swim lessons this week. Both will be in swim lessons in the afternoons starting next week. Trying to figure out how to get my scrapbooking assignments done with the changes in schedule. But so far so good. Okay, out the door now...more later!

Those shirts are really cool! I always see vendors for tie dyes during outdoor fairs and you will not believe how steep those things go for. I have to look up kits so we can make it ourselves. The ones you guys made came out really good!

Okay, I feel like maybe I could do the whole tie dye thing. My little one has been asking me about it and all I could think was 'I don't want to clean that up.' Knowing you did it with three boys makes me think I could handle it with one.
