HELLO

Hi. I'm Amanda...a happy wife and mom to three awesome guys. We've lived here in Fort Collins for more than 20 years and are proud to call it home. Before moving to CO, I worked at a city attorney's office, making use of my law and Master's degrees from Duke. After settling in Fort Collins, I homeschooled my three (now grown) sons and was delighted to experience music classes, soccer, karate, swim team, archery, Science Olympiad, First Lego League, parkour, and climbing (not all at the same time!). From 2005-10, I was also a contributing editor for a national scrapbooking magazine, authoring a book and a couple of monthly columns. From 2009-10, I founded and ran the Good Grief Blog. I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family, volunteering with The Matthews House, traveling and indoor rock climbing.

Routine.

Guess what. I used the elliptical machine again today. Yes, that means all of you who guessed I was lying about using it on Monday were WRONG! Ha.

For the record, I don't actually dislike exercising...I just haven't had it as part of my routine for years now. (Once upon a time, I really was in fairly decent shape, LOL!) I could list any number of excuses as to why I haven't made better use of the elliptical now that we finally got one (last summer) but most of it boils down to finding time to fit it into my normal routine. So. I've decided that I'm going to treat soccer season (the next 7 weeks) as a little routine-builder...yep, gonna make time for it and hope that at the end of the season it's become a regular part of my routine enough to stick. ;)

So. Thus far, two people each have one correct. I'll give folks another day to guess and then tell you what's what tomorrow night.

My foot is in my mouth! I remember seeing pictures in frames at your house, but not an elliptical runner... besides petite little Amanda gets her exercise running after 3 boys! My apologies to you. By the way, you have motivated me to get back into an exercise routine so I will join you in your goal to stick with a routine for 7 weeks.
