HELLO

Hi. I'm Amanda...a happy wife and mom to three awesome guys. We've lived here in Fort Collins for more than 20 years and are proud to call it home. Before moving to CO, I worked at a city attorney's office, making use of my law and Master's degrees from Duke. After settling in Fort Collins, I homeschooled my three (now teenage and older) sons and was delighted to experience music classes, soccer, karate, swim team, archery, Science Olympiad, First Lego League, parkour, and climbing (not all at the same time!). From 2005-10, I was also a contributing editor for a national scrapbooking magazine, authoring a book and a couple of monthly columns. From 2009-10, I founded and ran the Good Grief Blog. I enjoy learning new things, spending time with my family, volunteering with The Matthews House, traveling and indoor rock climbing.

I got a new camera yesterday! It's been awhile in the waiting, but we finally felt able to swing this purchase and I couldn't be happier. Settled on the Canon XTi (a digital SLR for those not in the know)...liked how it felt in my hands better than the 30D. Picked up a very nice lens (Canon 24-105mm) and a cool Crumpler bag, too!

My mom's still here (and, unfortunately, still sick) so haven't played with it much yet, but we have a homeschool group picnic, complete with relay races and all sorts of fun, this Sunday so I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunity to play!

are you awaiting the new harry potter then? its out in july here i think..last one eh? Im thinking of pre-ordering mine from amazon, they guarantee delivery on the day of release!!

you will LOVE this one amanda! i'm still learning but the Xti was the right choice for us! i'm still dreaming about the extra lens kit that i'll be getting but all of that will have to wait - sigh. enjoy!!!
